The Provenance Reference

Dominium builds proof that your valuables are yours. It is a provenance recorder, not an authenticity service — it does not certify an item is genuine (only the maker or a professional can). It gives you a sealed, signed record of an item's identity and ownership, held by you. Build one in Capture.

Evidence — what proves what

A record is only as strong as its evidence. Strongest first:

Direct purchase — receipt or bank transfer from the maker or an authorised seller. The strongest proof.
Independent authentication — a professional or service (Entrupy for bags, GIA / IGI for diamonds, a watch specialist). Issues a certificate.
Maker / boutique verification — the brand confirms through its own systems or chip.
On-item identifiers — chip UID, serial, hallmark, date code. They anchor the object's identity.
Dated photographs — the visual record of detail and condition.

identity ≠ authenticity ≠ ownership. An identifier anchors the object; a genuineness verdict needs the maker or a pro; ownership rests on your purchase. Dominium proves identity and ownership — honestly, it never pretends to the verdict.

Identifiers — how to read each

📡 NFC chip. Two families: ISO 14443 (Type 2–4), readable by web-NFC on Android; and ISO 15693 / NFC Forum Type 5 (luxury goods, e.g. EM4237) — readable only by a native NFC app, giving a unique read-only UID. Record the UID in Capture.

🔢 Serial number. Engraved, stamped or printed unique ID. Photograph and record it.

⚜ Hallmark / assay mark. On gold, silver, platinum: fineness (750 = 18k, 925 = sterling), the assay-office mark, the maker's mark, a date letter. A legal provenance system seven centuries old.

📅 Date code. Manufacture date and place on older goods — decode it in the Decode tab.

💎 Gemstone report. A GIA / IGI report number, often laser-inscribed on the diamond's girdle. Bind the report.

📜 Certificate / appraisal. A document of authenticity or valuation — bind its fingerprint.

🧾 Receipt / transfer. The purchase record — bind it privately (fingerprint only).

Then seal it. In Capture, each identifier and document is fingerprinted, sealed with Face ID, and chained into a record only you hold — provable to anyone, offline. Proof, not promise.

Date code decoder

For brands that use date or serial codes rather than chips — Hermès blind stamps, LV date codes, Chanel serial numbers. Type the code to decode year, month, country.

Identity assertion

WebAuthn biometric verification — triggers Face ID (iPhone) or Touch ID (Mac). Creates a cryptographic proof that a specific person was physically present with this device at a specific time. Useful for: airport/border documents, luxury item provenance, custody records, any situation requiring proof of presence.

How it works: Tap a button below → your device asks for Face ID or Touch ID → you authenticate → the scanner creates a SHA-256 proof tied to that biometric challenge. The proof is stored locally as a signed cryptoglyph record. No biometric data ever leaves your device.
